Mary Wood
Executive Director, Retirement Living Council
Mary Wood was appointed as the inaugural Executive Director of the Retirement Living Council in January 2013. Mary
has a long history of working for government. She has been a Chief of Staff to a federal minister, a press secretary and a
policy adviser, helping to deliver multi-million dollar social housing programs as well as human services. She has worked
on the creation and marketing of innovative schemes such as the National Rental Affordability Scheme, service delivery
reforms at Medicare and Centrelink, and public housing policy. She has qualifications in arts, law, public policy and company
directorship, and worked as a project manager for an aged care provider before commencing work for the Retirement
Living Council.
